Fuubutsushi is the Japanese word meaning, a poetic expression of certain things — feelings, scents, images — that evoke memories or anticipation of a particular season. The piece, Fuubutsushi, is made of found objects throughout 12 months of quarantine walks during the pandemic. These walks became a daily practice of slowing down, paying attention, and watching the steady and unperceptive daily change of the seasons in Seattle. This piece shows the distinct differences as well as the intrinsic interconnectedness of the seasons.

An emotionally evocative juxtaposition contemplating paradox and likeness. Death and Life. Despair and Hope. Scarcity and Abundance. Fragility and Growth. Ends and Beginnings. Beauty. Uniqueness. Fleeting. Cyclical. From a single perspective, these things coexist in the same space and time. May we choose where we direct our focus.

With life slowed down in 2020, I have prioritized creating and am grateful for the time and space to be able to make this most recent series. An expansion on a skateboard deck exploration done over five years ago, the Portland Skate series continue the theme of depicting home on a canvas meant for transportation.

I've been lucky enough to add two new galleries to my portfolio this week -- wedding photography and newborn photography. It has been a gratifying adventure to document the big life moments of those around me. Please enjoy the two newest portfolios -- VOW and JOY.

I spent a week in Peru with one of my best friends and hiked over 35 miles in 5 days. On the first day, we hiked Rainbow Mountain, a 10 mile journey with a 16,500ft summit. The following day, we started a 4-day trek along the traditional Inca Trail. We saw many Inca sites along the way, crossed through the top of Dead Woman's Pass, and on the fourth day arrived at the Sun Gate to Machu Picchu.
